Our eco-friendly Simple Substrate combines premium coco coir, vermiculite, and Azomite (CVA) to create an ideal base for mushroom cultivation. Perfect for both beginners and experienced growers, it supports healthy mycelium growth through excellent moisture retention, nutrient balance, and airflow. Sourced sustainably, this blend ensures your mushrooms thrive with essential trace minerals from Azomite. Substrates come pre-sterilized in an XLS-A Unicorn Bag, ensuring sterility and ease of use for your cultivation process.

Quick Start Guide:

Step Instructions
1. Unpack & Inspect Open the sealed Unicorn bag and ensure the filter patch and autoclavable seal are intact.
2. Add Grain or Liquid Culture Combine colonized grain spawn or liquid culture (1:1 - 1:3 ratio) with substrate in a clean container or bag.
3. Mix & Incubate Gently break up clumps, seal container or bag, and incubate at 70–75 °F until fully colonized (7–14 days).
4. Transfer to Fruiting Move colonized substrate to fruiting conditions—high humidity, fresh air, and indirect light.
5. Harvest & Reuse Harvest mushrooms when mature. Start second flush. Leftover substrate can be composted or reused as casing material.
